Happy Easter to all of you! I hope you all had a wonderful time!
This week I worked on a character design for the book: The last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. I am reading this book to my eldest daughter and she requested to know how Schmendrick the magician looked like. Or how I thought he’d looked like.
Schmendrick is described as a wizard, that looks munch younger than his age and he has no beard. Which is often one of the reasons he is not taken seriously by others. I imagined him as tall and more of the goofy type. The illustration is colored with Aquarell colors and Faber Castells Polychromo colored pencils. My daughter is really happy about this illustration and of course has now asked how Molly Grue looks like. I want to make another illustration this week but it will be more like a complete illustration instead of a character design. I might even do a ink one because I miss working with ink. But we will see what my mind decides looks best. 🙂
Other than that, I have written a little bit more for my book and planned some stuff for the next week. Hopefully I have time to get it done. I always plan more than I have time on my hands. 😀 (Go big or go home I guess)
Thank you all for reading my weekly update! I hope I can post more frequently soon and give you more insight in my life as an illustrator (and mom).
