behind the scenes,  weekly update

All ink – weekly update

This week, I worked with ink only. And it was quite freeing. Having only one medium to work with helped me a lot with my illustrating progress. As much as I like colorful illustrations, I often struggle a lot with those. Reducing colors to maybe 3 or 4 in one illustration is probably better for me. (and my sanity 😀 )

I wanted to do a magazine spread with illustrations of mine and also an article written by myself. And because I am currently in knitting fever, I wrote about the benefits of knits. And there are a lot.
If you have anxiety or depression, doing knit work helps you calm down because you are very concentrated and are also doing a lot of repetitive work. I often dream away whilst knitting and I am deeply calm when I am working. There are a lot more benefits, but I will post my magazine spread for you all to read here, when I am finished.

I also went and bought some new ink supplies and I can’t wait to use them. But first I have a lot of writing to do before I can illustrate.

So let’s get to work! 🙂
